Danish airspace consists of Copenhagen Flight Information Region (FIR), which extends across the Danish territory and into the North Sea, toward Scotland.

Area control service within Copenhagen FIR is provided by Copenhagen ACC (EKDK). Free Route Airspace (FRA) is established within Copenhagen FIR above FL285. The FRA extends into Sweden FIR.

Transiting traffic in the FIR is mostly from the south to the east and vice versa, between northwestern Europe and northern Scandinavia.

Most traffic arriving to or departing from Denmark does so via the main international airport, Copenhagen Kastrup (EKCH), which is the busiest airport in the Nordic Region.
